Saddleworx Deflector deflects the wind from your helmet

Anybody that owns a FLSTS combined with a windshield should understand the  annoyance of an updraft under the helmet at 80k or over. I have tried 3 to 4 different ideas to correct this problem including riding with one arm across my chest. Realizing how bad it would be coming home from Americade heading west, I made a strap on flap. Although it worked quite well it just wasn't "cool".

My experience towing a travel trailer should of  tipped me off. The one thing I used to do to set up my roof scoop was to watch the "BUGS" on the front of my trailer and you could see where the wind was hitting. Why it took me a over a year to "SEE" the answer on my bike I cant explain but here it is.  If you have bugs on the front of your gas tank that is the clue to stopping the updraft. If putting your arm across your chest stops the updraft then that simply confirms it.

"Motorcycle Consumer News" nailed this one on their test drive way back in June 96 when they predicted an updraft because of the open forks.

Fits 1997,1998,1999 only

(Sorry but due to the removable windshield
and larger frame support at the front it will not fit the newer bikes.)

This flat Lexan piece is specific to this bike with a fixed windshield.
It is held on with one bolt at the center of the frame
and will work well with a crash bar.

Caution...This product removes the sensation of speed such as
roaring in the helmet and may cause you to ride faster thus delivering
a different riding experience.
Be sure to ride your bike before installing and then immediately
after, noting your speed both times.  You will probably notice that
you you are riding 10-20 MPH faster.

Riders have been asking for a closer view so here it is...

Below is a fiberglass version I made as a "one off".
Initial tests show that it is no more effective then the Lexan deflector.
It also will slow cooling from the heads

Using a Thermal Melt stick outside engine temp
hasn't broken 450 degrees f. Most people think
it adds to the bike.

Here is another way of solving the problem in a similar fashion.
