Saddleworx  The Worx For comfort

I developed my process by working on my own motorbike saddles over the years. I start the process by assessing some pre-build questions of the rider. With the riders data in hand we start the process. Using your existing pan off any make or model including BMW, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki or custom HD, we redesign the seat pan platform for longevity, posture and comfort. We now install structural support materials to build up the seat for foam support, The next step is to apply foam in various densities to stabilize, cushion and support the weight of a rider. This layer of foam is trimmed and hand sanded. I  finish the process by applying a poly foam layer on the seat and recover using your materials.

At Saddleworx we are in the business of reconstructing or customizing
your existing saddle. We focus on comfort. Most manufacturers seat pans and probably yours if you have read this far look like the old metal tractors seat ONLY upside down. YES upside down and then padded to hide all the sins. Now if take your  plastic seat pan, you know the one that connects to the frame to support the weight of the rider and all the hardware THEN make another one to give the rider comfort and join the two together.

Comfort can be broken down into 3 areas. 1)The main structure of the pan and this is where a lot of problems start then what goes on top. 2)Mostly foam and the varying densities 3)Finally the covering and here we offer suede for heat problems.

Just to let you know, the seats are installed and we actually got out for a ride a couple of weeks ago before
winter returned up here. They look great and are extremely comfortable. L.C.

We deal with comfort in different ways and may use a variety of methods to build your seat depending on your needs.  Be sure to visit our materials page to view some of the possible choices for recovering your saddle or pillion. Every seat is built to your requirements and every seat will be as different as the rider if total comfort is to be achieved.

A foam base seat within a seat. Starting from the base up to support your body from the skeleton out.

The material of choice for myself is suede as it deals with the monkey butt problem. We use only the real thing with the leather face brushed to create a nap. Will it get wet? My answer is ...did you ever see a cow full of water?! In other words the surface will get wet but the water will not penetrate.

Gel (dry polymer) can be added. Discomfort stems from the bottom pan shape and adding a layer of anything on the top will do very little as this top 1 inch of the seat is usually of the most comfortable construction anyway. We do offer Gel (dry polymer) as an extra.

Foam Base
A reworking of your existing seat from the base up.
Suede  Cover
A natural thick brushed leather suede with a beautiful nap.
Gel
Dry polymer for that little extra.

For those who want to build their own pan I highly recommend "ABS hair cell" from your local plastic supplier. It can be shaped with heat and you can drill and bolt or rivet to it. I can staple the cover to it.

We recently purchased a Yamaha Silverado 1600 and I need the rear seat redone.
You redid the seat on the Honda and it was wonderful. E.C.
